Micro Focus / Micro Planet

Building "H", once Novell's iconic hearquarters located in Provo, Utah now flying under the Micro Focus banner. On the right is the East Bay Cafe, formerly the Hard Disc Cafe. On the left we see a small portion of the Wasatch range.

East Hall ( Renovated ), Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA, USA

The tower and 3 story addition ( left ) were added as part of a major renovation of this iconic residence hall, a favorite of students. The diminutive original portion ( right ) is about the same height, but the planetization process makes the addition pop out.

This was the original horrific stitch job of the older version of Hugin, it could just not align this one. however the 2018 version could, and produced a usable image the first time. Never give up.

An example that Hugin does not quite do all the work. Significant reconstruction of the nadir is neededeven when masks and other settings are used. In this case you can see that masks removed the tripod legs almost entirely. However, the shadow of the tripod is always present and need to be fixed, as well as the usual donut hole.

Sometimes the mistakes Hugin makes are more interesting that the thing I wanted to do. So I let Hugin do its thing. Why fight it.

Microfocus HQ, Provo, Utah - Work In Progress

Previously Novell HQ, this was a second series I shot while at the TTP conference, hosted on the MF campus. This is "Building H" which housed Novell in its heyday.

Hamilton Crossings detention pond.

This was originally the pond next to the cemetery at Hamilton Blvd. ( Route 222 bypass ) and Krocks Road. The skeletal tree was on a small island in the center of the pond. The pond was drained and dug out to forms a much larger detention basin for the Hamilton Crossings outdoor mall. I had this material for a couple years, but could never het Hugin to align it properly. New Hugin and A couple years more experience, and here it is. The squarish patch in the center is actually there, not an artifact of pano-hole repairs.

A very hasty and imperfect Little Planet where everything went wrong that could go wrong. Don't look too close, the planetization process caused some mutations.
